Belgians sign Schollen

Anderlecht have settled on Davy Schollen as the man to ease their keeping troubles.

Anderlecht have settled on Davy Schollen as the man to ease their goalkeeping troubles.

The Belgian outfit have been scouring the market for a keeper capable of challenging for a place in their first team and they have swooped for Schollen.

Jan van Steenberghe and Silvio Proto have been long term casualties for Anderlecht and Schollen will vie with Daniel Zitka for a place in the side.

The 28-year-old has been on NAC Breda's books for the last couple of seasons, but slipped behind Arno van Swam in the pecking order last term - although the latter has left the club.

The arrival of Edwin Zoetebier this summer was a further indicator that Schollen was not in NAC's thinking.

NAC are happy for the former KRC Genk and Sint Truiden man to move on and have sanctioned a loan deal with an option to buy.
