David Hellebuyck admits joining Paris Saint Germain from St Etienne is a dream move for his career.
The midfielder has signed a three-year contract with the capital club after spending the past five seasons with St Etienne.
He admits he is delighted to have signed for PSG and revealed the part coach Guy Lacombe played in his decision.
"It is a great step in my career, and I can say it is the first time in my professional life that I join a club I really wanted to join," Hellebuyck told France Football.
"Lausanne, St Etienne and even Guingamp, it was by obligation.
"Now, I wanted a change of air and you can't refuse PSG, it is a kid's dream.
"To negotiate two francs at St Etienne, you have to cry. At Paris, I earn é¼45,000, I say it, so it is clear.
"It has not always been that easy at St Etienne, but my family was there. I need my family and to get the coach's trust.
"I would not have come if Lacombe was not here.
"Now my wish is to make a name for myself and show my true value."
