Primera Liga new boys Levante are closing in on the capture of AZ Alkmaar striker Shota Arveladze.The Georgian, who scored 21 goals in the Eredivisie last season, will arrive at the club early next week to finalise the transfer.
New Levante coach Juan Ramon Lopez Caro is set to offer the 33-year-old an initial one-year contract with the option of a further 12 months.
The Valencian club are gearing up for a tough season in the Spanish top flight and president Pedro Villarroel is confident that acquisitions like Arveladze will help them to avoid relegation.
"We are preparing a team with experience and quality so we will not have problems in this division and Arveladze will help the team a lot," he said.
