Grimsby land another

Grimsby Town have signed Blackburn Rovers midfielder Gary Harkins.

The 21-year-old joins The Mariners on a two-year contract after failing to make a breakthrough into the first team at Ewood Park.

Harkins is familiar with The Football League, having had loan spells at Huddersfield Town and Bury before joining Blackpool for a month last season.

The combative youngster has decided that now is the time to move away from regular reserve team football with Rovers and take up his new opportunity at Blundell Park.
