Nantes - Luigi to join City

Luigi Glombard is signing for Cardiff City, according to French club Nantes.

Luigi Glombard is to leave Nantes and head for Coca-Cola Championship side Cardiff City, according to the French club.

Les Canaris allowed the young attacker to head for a fresh challenge in Wales and he is set to be unveiled by manager Dave Jones in the near future.

The striker could get a chance to play against Ligue 1 opposition again when The Bluebirds tackle Auxerre in a pre-season friendly on July 28.

A former Under-17 World champion, the 21-year-old was born in Montreux and scored twice in 29 games for Nantes after four seasons at the club.

The move should allow him more opportunities for regular first team football.
