Tristan closes on Depor exit
Deportivo La Coruna have given the clearest indication yet that Diego Tristan will be sold.
Deportivo La Coruna president Augusto Lendoiro has given the clearest indication yet that Diego Tristan will be sold within the next few weeks. The prolific Spaniard has fallen down Depor's striking pecking order and is looking for a move to rejuvenate what has become somewhat of a stagnated career.
Tristan has not been short of suitors since announcing his desire for a change of scenery and has already attracted interest from Celtic, Sporting Lisbon and Benfica.
It has recently come to light, according to Spanish reports, that Middlesbrough have also expressed tentative interest but they could be prohibited by the fee desired by Depor.
Depor are believed to want é¼3.5 million (£2.4 million) for the player, with Tristan's own wage demands thought to be in the region of é¼1.5 million per season.
Lendoiro admits that a deal could be concluded by the back end of this week but accepts the finer details of any deal struck will have to suit all the parties concerned.
"I think that we will fulfil his exit before this Saturday, but we must collaborate in order to do it,'' said Lendoiro.
''Diego Tristan might have a good offer in his hands, one than can be also interesting to the club. We have to make an agreement in order to concrete a request that was made by the same player."
