Osasuna win Soldado race
Roberto Soldado has sealed a season-long loan move to Osasuna.
Real Madrid striker Roberto Soldado has sealed a season-long loan move to Osasuna. The 21-year-old arrived on the footballing scene during last season's UEFA Champions League with a late winner for Real against Olympiakos.
Soldado scored 20 goals for the club's B team in the Segunda division last term as well as netting three times in La Liga.
However, the young hit-man is not in coach Fabio Capello's plans for the coming season and the decision was made to allow him to gain experience out on loan.
A number of Spanish sides were keen on Soldado's capture but Osasuna have now won the race for his services for next season, with the starlet keen to play Champions League football once again.
"I am happy to be making the jump to the Primera division and have the option to return next season," Soldado told Real's official website.
"This decision was easy because Osasuna are a big club and are also in Europe, something that was very attractive to me.
"I arrive with the objective to fight for a starting place and to play in order to increase the level of my game."
Soldado has already linked up with his new team in Pamplona after leaving Real's training camp in Austria at the weekend.
