Robins in Royce talks

Swindon Town have opened contract talks with Australian striker Royce Brownlie.

Swindon Town have opened contract talks with Australian striker Royce Brownlie.

The 26-year-old has impressed Robins boss Dennis Wise during a pre-season trial with the League Two club.

Brownlie is a free agent following his release from Australian A-League side Queensland Roar and is now in negotiations over a one-year contract, with an option for a second year at The County Ground.

Meanwhile, winger Aaron Brown has done an about turn and opened talks with Wise regarding his interest in staying with the Wiltshire outfit.

The former Bristol City and Queens Park Rangers player was initially keen to leave Swindon for a higher level of football, having had a recent trial with Doncaster Rovers.

He failed to impress Donny boss Dave Penney and returned to Swindon, where he is now hoping to earn the chance to stay with The Robins.
