Milan keen on Oddo deal

Milan are once again trying to wrap up a deal for Lazio defender Massimo Oddo.

Milan are once again trying to wrap up a deal for Lazio defender Massimo Oddo.

The Italy international seems likely to quit the capital following Lazio's relegation as punishment for their involvement in the match-fixing furore that has rocked Italian football.

Milan have been in dialogue with their Lazio counterparts for much of the summer, with regards setting up a deal, but as yet an accord has not been struck.

Due to start the campaign with a 15-point deficit, Milan are eager to start strongly and see Oddo as the ideal candidate to add solidity to an ageing back four.

However, an opening offer of ‚é¼2.5 million (£1.7 million) has failed to impress Lazio president Claudio Lotito as he looks for closer to ‚é¼5 million (£3.4 million).
