Doncaster have handed youngster Anthony Griffiths a three-year contract.

The midfielder, who only turned professional midway through last season, has impressed Rovers boss Dave Penney sufficiently to be offered a deal spanning until 2009.

Griffiths progressed through the youth ranks at Doncaster before breaking into the side in the game against Swindon last term.

The teenager, described as a physical player capable of dominating the midfield area, was also sent out on loan to Oxford in March to gain some more experience.
