Sebo saga close to completion
A final decision over Rangers' lengthy pursuit of Filip Sebo is expected on Tuesday.
A final decision over Rangers' lengthy pursuit of Filip Sebo is expected on Tuesday, with Austria Vienna still haggling over the finer points of the offer for the striker. The capital club have already admitted defeat in their attempts to convince the 22-year-old to stay, but the potential transfer continues to drag on with final financial details still to be ironed out.
Gers chief executive Martin Bain requested a final deadline of Tuesday in order for the Scottish side to pursue other targets should an agreement not be reached.
However it appears as though Sebo is on the brink of sealing his long awaited switch to Ibrox, with Austria Vienna's general manager Markus Kraetschmer hinting that the Glasgow side only need to budge slightly in order to ease through a deal.
"We have found a way today but there is still something not quite agreeable with the money," Kraetschmer told The Herald.
"There will be an agreement if we can work out these figures.
"We will now deal with the club and the player up until tomorrow morning (Tuesday) and then we have decided if the transfer is not completed, we will leave it at that.
"I expect to speak again to Martin Bain and the agent and if Rangers move a little bit, then the player will move on.
"We have a clear plan on what we want and we will not move.
"We respect Rangers need a decision soon, too, because I have been told Paul Le Guen has a second option."
