Nedved to stay at Juve

Veteran playmaker Pavel Nedved has pledged his future to troubled Juventus.

Veteran playmaker Pavel Nedved has pledged his future to troubled Juventus.

Following the club's relegation to Serie B as punishment for their role in the Italian match-fixing scandal, several star names have already quit the club.

Fabio Cannavaro, Lilian Thuram, Gianluca Zambrotta and Emerson have moved on, while reports suggest more players could follow that example.

Patrick Vieira has been strongly linked with Internazionale, and there have been doubts placed against the futures of David Trezeguet and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Juventus coach Didier Deschamps is adamant there should be no more sales and he will be boosted by Nedved's stance.

According to the Czech Republic star's agent Zdenek Nehoda, Nedved has vowed to stay in Turin next season.

"Pavel will play for Juventus in the next season," Nehoda told CTK.

Earlier this month, Nehoda revealed the ageing schemer had received offers from Tottenham Hotspur and Monaco, along with clubs in United Arab Emirates and Qatar.

But Nedved has opted to remain loyal to Juventus as the Old Lady look to overcome a 17-point penalty and secure an immediate return to Serie A.
