Swindon set to snap up Evans
Former Nottingham Forest midfielder Paul Evans has provisionally signed for Swindon.
Former Nottingham Forest midfielder Paul Evans has signed for Swindon Town, subject to approval from the Football League. The 29-year-old has put pen-to-paper on a one-year deal with the League Two outfit, after being released by Forest at the end of last season.
He came on as an impressive second half substitute in The Robins' 1-1 pre-season friendly draw against Reading on Saturday and did enough to earn himself a deal.
Evans started out at Shrewsbury Town where he made nearly 200 appearances for the club before spells at Brentford, Bradford City and Blackpool saw him move to Forest in March 2004.
He was loaned out to Rotherham United last term but failed to make an impact at Millmoor, and returned to Nottingham.
But it is hoped he will be able to relaunch his career at The County Ground and help the team force their way back into League One after being relegated last season.
