Manchester City winger Willo Flood is undergoing a medical ahead of a proposed switch to Cardiff City.

The 21-year-old is set to leave Eastlands in a bid to further his career and the prospect of more regular first team football in The Championship appeals to the Irishman.

Cardiff are poised to sign Flood, who had a loan spell with Coventry City last term, in addition to long-term midfield target Jason Koumas.

The two stars have been pencilled in for squad numbers 14 and seven respectively, with West Brom close to agreeing to a deal over Koumas despite maintaining a tough stance throughout negotiations.

Cardiff had also been linked with moves for Reading's Glen Little and Manchester United wide man Chris Eagles but Flood looks certain to become Dave Jones's latest recruit.
