Oakes seals Swans switch

Swansea City have completed the capture of experienced keeper Andy Oakes.

The former Walsall and Derby County shot-stopper has penned a one-year deal with the League One outfit.

The 29-year-old was on the lookout for a new club after leaving the relegated Saddlers over the summer.

Oakes is familiar with his new team-mates after spending the close-season training with Swansea in a bid to win a deal with the South Wales outfit.

Once his Walsall contract expired on August 1, Swansea wrapped up the transfer for Oakes, who will now provide cover for Willy Gueret.
