Oude Kamphuis leaves Foals

Niels Oude Kamphuis has left Borussia Monchengladbach at his own request.

The Foals agreed to cancel the Dutchman's contract after he asked to return to his homeland for family reasons.

The 28-year-old missed most of last season through injury and was unlikely to play an important role in new coach Jupp Heynckes' plans for the coming season.

"We still do not really know when Niels is going to be fit again," sport director Peter Pander told the club's official website.

"We have some good players in the defensive midfield position and so we decided to grant him his wish and terminate his contract."
