Dortmund duo bury hatchet

Borussia Dortmund duo Christoph Metzelder and Christian Worns have put their differences behind them after clear-the-air talks. The two defenders fell out shortly before the World Cup when Metzelder revealed that Germany coach Jurgen Klinsmann had guaranteed him a place in the national squad back in February despite his injury problems.
Worns, who was dropped by Klinsmann despite some impressive Bundesliga performances last season, accused his club colleague of being two-faced for failing to tell him about Klinsmann's promise.
Pressure from Dortmund boss Bert van Marwijk has, however, led to the players settling their differences ahead of the new season.
"We have discussed the situation and sorted it out like men," Metzelder commented after meeting Worns on Wednesday.
Worns added: "We had a calm, on-the-level chat and we both now want to concentrate on getting Dortmund back into Europe."
