Gary Neville has warned Manchester United's rivals that The Red Devils will be going all out for Premiership glory this season.

United open their league campaign against Fulham this weekend at a newly enhanced Old Trafford, and Neville believes it is the perfect way to kick off a successful season.

The club are desperate to re-establish themselves as England's top dogs, and have prioritised The Premiership above all other competitions.

"That's the trophy we want this season," Neville told Sky Sports News.

"We obviously have ambitions to do well in the other trophies but we have always said the bread and butter is the Premier league.

"We can't wait for it to get started. We've got a game against Fulham on Sunday, a new stadium if you like, of 75 000 people, and what a great platform to go out and put on a good show and let people know we're actually here to do something this season.

"We have underachieved the last three years. We have to be winning championships."

Neville also played down the effect Ruud van Nistelrooy's departure would have on United's title chances.

The England defender believes that United is bigger than any single player, and that the resources are there to cover for his absence.

"Players do leave the club, it happens," he said. "It's happened over the past 10 or 12 years.

"Ruud had a great goalscoring record but time moves on and we've got really good young forwards, Alan Smith, Wayne Rooney, Giuseppe Rossi and obviously Louis Saha.

"And then there's other players who can play there as well like Scholesy (Paul Scholes) and Giggsy (Ryan Giggs).

"Ruud starts a new career somewhere else and Manchester united keep going. That's the way it's always been."
