Fulop eyes Spurs exit
Tottenham keeper Marton Fulop is unhappy that he was not allowed to join Coventry.
Tottenham goalkeeper Marton Fulop has expressed his unhappiness at not being allowed to join Coventry. The Championship club, who took Fulop on loan last season, were keen to snap him up permanently and offered Spurs a Hungarian record fee of £1.5 million.
However, Tottenham rejected the offer on the basis that they need extra cover between the posts.
Fulop is third choice at White Hart Lane, behind Paul Robinson and Radek Cerny, and is desperate to play more regularly.
He has turned down the offer of a contract extension and is looking to seal a transfer this winter.
"Unfortunately my club will not let me go, even on loan, and I'm very disappointed about it because I'd like to play more to give me a better chance of being in the Hungarian squad," he told skysports.com.
"Lots of clubs have shown an interest in me, which makes me feel good.
"I have one year left on my contract but I have rejected the offer of a new deal.
"I will be free to go next year but I hope they let me go in January because they can still receive money for me then.
"Paul Robinson is number one so all I can do is work hard in training and grab any chance I might get."
