Terry set for new deal

Chelsea skipper John Terry is set to open talks over a new lucrative deal at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea skipper John Terry is set to open talks over a new lucrative deal at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues are ready to extend Terry's contract to keep him at the club for life.

Talks have been planned for some time and Chelsea are set to offer Terry a deal in line with the other top earners at the club.

Terry's agent Aaron Lincoln revealed that the England captain's new deal would give him parity with Chelsea's top stars.

"As things have gone on John's situation has become stronger," Lincoln told the News of the World.

"Not only has he become England captain but we have seen the arrival of Ballack and Shevchenko.

"There has always been the situation where John could look for parity with any new signings."
