Czech Republic striker Roman Bednar has penned a four-year contract with Hearts.

The 23-year-old has secured a long-term deal with the ambitious SPL club after initially joining on loan from FBK Kaunas last summer.

Bednar impressed during his debut season in Scotland and has now sealed a permanent arrangement with The Jambos.

He has already notched four goals this term and Bednar expressed his delight at clinching a four-year contract at Tynecastle.

"I have never hidden the fact that I love playing football with Hearts," said Bednar.

"I have great team-mates and I believe that, following last season's success, we can continue to develop and win as a team.

"Edinburgh is very much part of my life. I love the reception I get from the Hearts fans, particularly when playing at Tynecastle and that's why I'll continue to give 100 percent to the club and the fans.

"I want to be a winner with Hearts domestically and on the European stage and that's why I've signed."
