Ronaldo insists he is prepared to be a substitute, if it will secure him a recall to the Brazil squad.
The Real Madrid striker is waiting for a chance to establish himself in the plans of new national team coach Dunga.
And he is adamant he is willing to accept a role on the bench to ensure he remains involved with the Brazil side.
"If I deserve to play for the national team I am sure that Dunga will call me and I will be very proud about that," Ronaldo told O Globo.
"I would even accept being a substitute.
"All the players of the national team have been substitutes at some time and that doesn't mean anything against anyone.
"We all have a great humility and that is what makes the Brazilian national team a big team."
During the World Cup in Germany earlier in the summer, Ronaldo became the competition's leading scorer in finals.
But his appearance in the tournament was clouded by accusations that he received special treatment from then-coach Carlos Alberto Parreira, something Ronaldo flatly refutes.
"I played for the national team in Germany because I deserved it," he added.
"I didn't play because the coach had a good relationship with me.
"I didn't have any kind of advantage over any other player. I always worked very hard to win myself a place in the team."
