Trabelsi blow for City

Manchester City new boy Hatem Trabelsi is expected to be out of action for several weeks.

Manchester City new boy Hatem Trabelsi is expected to be out of action for several weeks with a groin injury.

The former Ajax star sustained a torn groin muscle during City's 4-2 defeat at Blackburn at the weekend.

The injury is a major blow for Trabelsi as the game at Blackburn was only his second outing since joining City.

City boss Stuart Pearce is unsure how long Trabelsi faces on the sidelines.

"We don't have a timescale at present but I will talk to the physios this morning in respect to that," Pearce told the club's official website.

"It's a groin strain that happened when he overstretched for a ball, so we will see how that goes."

Pearce also revealed that goalkeeper Andreas Isaksson had suffered a setback in his recovery from injury.

The Swedish international has yet to play for City since arriving from Rennes in the summer because of injury.

Isaksson picked up a knock in training last week and he now faces an extended spell out of action.

"There was a collision between him and another player in the training session before the Blackburn game, and his knee ligaments have been extended a little bit," added Pearce
