Dempsey keen on Prem switch

Clint Dempsey has confirmed his intentions to move to The Premiership.

United States international Clint Dempsey has confirmed his intentions to quit MLS and move to The Premiership.

Dempsey has less than a year remaining on his contract with New England Revolution and is keen on a new challenge in Europe.

Charlton Athletic and West Ham United have both previously been linked with the 23-year-old midfielder and may be interested again.

Dempsey could leave the MLS as early as the January transfer window and is keen to play his football in The Premiership.

"England is a great country to play in and I want to leave MLS," Dempsey is quoted in the Daily Mirror.

"Teams abroad are willing to pay me ten times more money and I don't want to be here.

"There is no way I am staying in MLS."
