Koeman to welcome Brett back
Erwin Koeman is looking forward to Brett Emerton's return to Feyenoord with Blackburn.
Feyenoord coach Erwin Koeman says Brett Emerton's prospective return to De Kuip will lend a special edge to the Uefa Cup game against Blackburn Rovers. The Premiership side were drawn with the Dutch outfit in Group E on Tuesday, alongside Basel, Wisla Krakow and Nancy.
Mark Hughes' men will travel to Holland on November 23 to play in Rotterdam, and for Emerton it will be a pleasing trip down memory lane after he made his name in Europe with Rovers' opponents.
Indeed Emerton was a key figure in the Dutch outfit's Uefa Cup triumph in 2002, although he missed the final due to suspension, and Koeman says he is looking forward to the return of the Australian international as both clubs attempt to emulate the achievement.
"It could be a good game," Koeman told the club's official website.
"The English always want to play in a system with two strikers.
"It will also be a good return for Brett Emerton which will give a special flavour to it for us."
