Former Ivory Coast captain Bonaventure Kalou has been left out of his country's squad.

Former Ivory Coast captain Bonaventure Kalou has been left out of his country's squad for a forthcoming African Cup of Nations qualifier against Gabon on Sunday.

The Paris Saint Germain striker has endured a difficult start to the season in the French capital and having lost his place he has now been deemed surplus to requirements on the international stage.

Nantes midfielder Emerse Fae, Hamburg defender Guy Demel and Le Mans striker Christian Koffi Ndri have all also been axed by new coach Uli Stielike.

The Premiership is well represented as Emmanuel Eboue, Abdoulaye Meite, Kolo Toure, Didier Zokora and Didier Drogba all make the cut.
