Ooijer makes PSV claim
Blackburn's Andre Ooijer has claimed he was forced out of former PSV Eindhoven.
Blackburn defender Andre Ooijer has claimed he was forced out by former club PSV Eindhoven.
The Holland international joined Rovers in August, but believes he could have remained in Eindhoven if his former employers had not reneged on a contract offer.
The 32-year-old claims PSV withdrew their offer of a three-year contract earlier this year, leading to a breakdown in relations between the two parties.
And, after PSV rejected Rovers' opening offers for Ooijer, the player then boycotted training with Ronald Koeman's team.
"If PSV had not withdrawn their offer I would still have been playing in Eindhoven," he told ELF magazine. "If PSV would have kept their word that nonsense [the boycott] wouldn't have been necessary at all."
Ooijer has endured a difficult start to life in The Premiership, having been culpable for a number of goals conceded by Rovers, but is adamant he is beginning to find his feet.
"I had a bit of an unlucky start but things are going well now," added Ooijer, who is currently training with the Holland squad ahead of their Euro 2008 qualifiers against Bulgaria and Albania.
"I scored an own goal and I conceded two penalties.
"But my overall game isn't bad. It is somewhat like I expected."
