Cech kept in hospital

Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech was being kept in hospital overnight with his head injury.

Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech was being kept in hospital overnight after picking up a head knock in Saturday's win at Reading.

Carlo Cudicini, who was also injured at The Madejski Stadium, was discharged from hospital after undergoing tests.

Both goalkeepers picked up head injuries during Chelsea's hard-fought win in The Premiership.

Cech sustained his injury in a collision with Stephen Hunt, while Cudicini was stretchered off late on after a clash with Ibrahima Sonko.

Chelsea confirmed Cech was spending a night in hospital as he continues his recovery.

"Petr Cech will be spending Saturday night in hospital under observation. Carlo Cudicini, who was initially taken to hospital, has been discharged," read a statement on the Chelsea website.

"Everyone at Chelsea Football Club wishes both Petr and Carlo the speediest of recoveries from their injuries."
