Tymoschuk fancies Prem switch

Shakhtar Donetsk captain Anatolii Tymoschuk is interested in The Premiership.

Shakhtar Donetsk captain Anatolii Tymoschuk has expressed an interest in playing in The Premiership.

The Ukraine international attracted the interest of several clubs in the summer following his performances at this summer's World Cup finals in Germany.

The 27-year-old confirmed he had talks with Scottish Premier League champions Celtic, but both The Bhoys and Shakhtar were unable to agree a fee for the midfielder.

Tymoschuk admits The Premiership is a desirable league destination.

"It's very good," he told Sky Sports News. "I think players play in other countries to play with very big teams."

Tymoschuk confirmed he met with Celtic boss Gordon Strachan, but was disappointed not to see a move materialise in the summer.

"I spoke with the Celtic manager, but it was not possible to go," he added. "Maybe the clubs did not have good result for a transfer.

"For me, it was not good, but maybe I will play in another place."
