Moyes: Vaughan going nowhere

David Moyes insists he has no intention of letting James Vaughan go out on loan.

Everton boss David Moyes insists he has no intention of letting youngster James Vaughan go out on loan.

The 18-year-old burst on to the scene a couple of seasons back when he broke the record for being the youngest Premiership scorer with a goal on his senior debut against Crystal Palace.

However, the teenager's progress has since been stunted by a serious knee injury sustained whilst representing England's Under-19 side.

Vaughan has undergone three operations on the troublesome problem and is now making his way back to full fitness.

Moyes has revealed that over 20 clubs have enquired about arranging a loan deal for the hit-man, with Merseyside neighbours Tranmere Rovers purportedly the latest to show an interest, but is adamant Vaughan will be going nowhere until the club are satisfied his injury problems are behind him.

"We have had so many clubs ringing us, not just a few but I think more than 20 now," Moyes told Everton's official website. "But I am not going to let him go on loan.

"It would be wrong for us to put him out on loan after such a bad injury until we have seen that it does not flare up again.

"Any thoughts of loans are non-starters, we will decide if there is a right time."
