Valencia have been digesting the news that Asier Del Horno will require at least four months on the sidelines recovering from an Achilles injury.The former Chelsea defender, who is yet to play for the Che following his move from Stamford Bridge, underwent surgery to correct the problem which occurred prior to the World Cup.
It had been hoped Del Horno may be able to return in two months, however, that original estimation has now been doubled - ensuring he will not be back before March next year.
Valencia doctor Mikel Sanchez stated: "The tests have not come back positive and the possibility that he could return in two months has been discarded."
It remains to be seen whether they will move to shore up their back-line during the January transfer window with president Juan Soler and coach Quique Sanchez Flores set to debate the subject.
