McEveley's Rovers frustration

James McEveley is frustrated that injuries have hampered his Blackburn Rovers progress over the years.

The former England Under-21 international burst onto the scene as a 17-year-old, but a number of injuries have prevented him from becoming a first-team regular.

McEveley made his first start of the season in Rovers' 2-0 Carling Cup loss to Chelsea and is now looking to put his injury nightmare firmly behind him.

"It has been extremely frustrating for me," McEveley said to the BBC.

"I went out on loan to Ipswich last season, thinking I would get a few games under my belt.

"I wanted to get going but then I broke down again.

"Hopefully I have put all my injuries behind me and I can kick on now."
