Dons add Cobblers keeper

MK Dons have signed Northampton keeper Lee Harper on a three-month loan.

Milton Keynes Dons have signed Northampton Town goalkeeper Lee Harper on a three-month loan deal.

The Cobblers stopper has played second fiddle to youngster Mark Bunn this season, after making the position his own for the majority of last season's successful promotion campaign.

Harper will now compete with Adolfo Baines for the number one spot at the National Hockey Stadium and Town boss John Gorman has called youth team goalkeeper Chris Dunn into his squad to cover Bunn if necessary.

Thirty four-year-old Harper has been a loyal servant at Sixfields since moving from Walsall on a Bosman free transfer in the summer of 2002 and Gorman has supported the keeper in his return to League Two.

"Hopefully the move will benefit all parties. We hope he will have a successful time there and we wish him well," Gorman commented.

Harper will be hoping to make his debut for the Dons' trip to his former club Walsall on Saturday, as they look to keep up their promotion challenge.
