NEC sought to make home advantage count and took the lead on the half-hour mark through Brett Holman (pictured).

But the visitors were level just five minutes later when Kevin Bobson equalised and it remained 1-1 until 13 minutes from time.

Matthieu Assou-Ekotto, brother of Tottenham full back Benoit, grabbed the winner for Willem II, although the result still leaves the club 15th in the standings.
