Celta Vigo goalkeeper Esteban has put pen-to-paper on a new contract, committing himself to the Galician club until 2009.
Esteban's existing deal expired in 2007, but, after much negotiation, the 31-year-old opted to sign on for a further two years, despite suggestions he could seek pastures new.
Esteban joined Celta from Sevilla in the summer of 2005, and was initially viewed as a first choice.
However, the form of Jose Manuel Pinto, who has also recently signed a new contract with the club, has seen him consigned to the bench more often than not.
Esteban has played just two matches in La Liga for Celta, but has featured more prominently in the team's Copa del Rey and Uefa Cup campaigns.
