McCartney won't go back
George McCartney has admitted regretting his fall out with Lawrie Sanchez.
West Ham defender George McCartney has admitted regretting his fall out with national team manager Lawrie Sanchez.
The Northern Ireland international had won 22 caps for his country before the spat last year, but has not played since.
Ç£I had a fall out with the manager and he was saying I was just choosing the games I wanted to play in,Ç¥ said McCartney.
Ç£But at the time I was injured and ended up missing six months of the season last year.
Ç£It is probably something I regret doing because you should be proud to play for your country and not let anything like that get in your way.Ç¥
The former Sunderland man is not optimistic about representing his country again.
Ç£I do not know if I would go because I am not sure if the fans would take to it.
Ç£There are a lot of things involved and I am not sure if I will speak to the manager one day - we do not really get on with each other.Ç¥
McCartney has only played twice this season for The Hammers since returning from injury and will be looking to establish himself as a regular at Upton Park.
