Juan Ugarte has signed for Wrexham on a permanent 18-month deal. The 26-year-old returns to The Racecourse Ground for a third time following a hugely successful run with the side in the 2004-5 season and a less impressive loan spell last term.
He was contracted to Crewe last season before being released in the summer, but has now returned to fitness and convinced Wrexham boss Denis Smith that he is worth a deal.
Ugarte was able to put pen-to-paper outside of the transfer window as he was a free agent, and Smith is hoping he can deliver the goods.
"We're delighted to have Juan back here on a permanent basis and hopefully he can reproduce the form he showed in his previous spell with the club," he said.
"It's been a long and arduous road back from injury but he's shown great determination to regain his fitness and should soon be pushing hard for a first-team place."
