Perez apologises to linesman

Ajax striker Kenneth Perez has apologised for racially abusing a linesman.

Perez abused the linesman during the game with Twente Enschede last week.

The former Danish international admitted he regretted the incident claiming it happened in the heat of the moment.

"I regret what I said...Everyone who knows me, knows I am not a racist," Perez told Talpa TV.

In a statement on the Ajax official website Perez said he will give a financial contribution to charity and stage a soccer clinic in an Amsterdam neighbourhood with a big ethnic population

A Dutch soccer league spokesman said that they will examine the case on Monday before the prosecutor decides if action will be taken against Perez.
