Saha sorry for penalty miss
Louis Saha has revealed he apologised to his team-mates for his penalty miss at Celtic.
Louis Saha has revealed he apologised to his team-mates for his penalty miss at Celtic, but is still confident Manchester United can progress to the knockout stages of the UEFA Champions League. The Bhoys booked their passage to the last 16 thanks to a sublime goal from Shunsuke Nakamura, but it could have been so different had Saha not had his late spot kick saved by Artur Boruc.
The French striker also missed a gilt-edged chance after being played in by Ryan Giggs, but he is unlikely to dwell on his failure from 12 yards.
"It is one of those things," he reflected on Sky Sports News. "I said sorry to the lads, but it is in the past and it will not change. A 1000 sorries will not change anything.
"I am sorry for my performance also.
"We were surprised on the free kick and it is a shame as it would have been very nice to get a draw."
United need to avoid defeat to Benfica in their final game in order to join Celtic in the last 16 and Saha feels The Red Devils are favourites to progress.
"Benfica have to come to Old Trafford so it is our advantage," he added.
"We need a point and it is going to be a tough game, but we have a big advantage."
