Hendrie hurt by Jones comments

Lee Hendrie is 'disgusted' by Dave Jones's claim that he got Stephen McPhail sent off.

Lee Hendrie is 'disgusted' by Dave Jones's comments that he play-acted to get Cardiff midfielder Stephen McPhail sent off.

McPhail was dismissed during Cardiff's 3-0 defeat at Stoke City on Tuesday for catching Hendrie in the face with his hand.

Bluebirds boss Dave Jones was 'livid' with the England cap and accused Hendrie of falling down as if he had been 'hit by a sledgehammer'.

Hendrie has reacted angrily to suggestions he was looking to get McPhail red carded and insists he would never cheat.

"I'm pretty disgusted really," Hendrie told Sky Sports News.

"I've got a lot of respect for managers and stuff, but some of the comments I've had I've not been happy at all to be honest.

"He said I'd go home and look at it myself. But I think he should quieten down and have a look at the video himself.

"That's his comments. If he's a being a bit bitter it might be down to the result.

"I've watched the incident a few times. I didn't really see it because I bent down to see my ankle and a fist or something caught me straight in the face.

"It's one of them things and I'm not going to hold a grudge against people, but I don't like people commenting on me as if I've done something wrong because I'm not a cheat at all.

"I'm a straight-forward guy and I put my heart and soul in when I play football.

"If he's got a problem with that, then that's his problem, but I've not got a problem with anyone."
