Valencia hit by Aaron blow

Niguez Aaron looks set to be ruled out for three weeks with a thigh injury.

Valencia's injury curse struck again during their UEFA Champions League defeat to Roma as Niguez Aaron picked up a problem that will keep him out for three weeks.

Due to Valencia's lengthy list of absentees, coach Quique Sanchez Flores was forced to draft in the young striker for his first-team debut, but he limped off the pitch after just 27 minutes

And tests have now revealed that Aaron suffered a small tear in his thigh muscle and will not return until after Christmas.

"It hurt a lot and I thought it was a tear," he said. "It was a great opportunity for me, but a shame because I injured myself after 20 minutes.

"I am now going to try to return with the objective of playing for Valencia.

"It was still a great experience to make my debut for Valencia, and especially against Roma. It was a big moment for me."

Valencia's extensive injury list already includes Asier Del Horno, David Albelda, Carlos Marchena, Mario Regueiro, Emiliano Moretti, Jaime Gavilan, Fernando Morientes and David Villa.
