Gallardo agrees PSG deal

PSG have reached an agreement with River Plate for Marcelo Gallardo.

Paris Saint-Germain have reached an agreement with River Plate for midfielder Marcelo Gallardo.

A contract has been agreed and the former Monaco man will complete his medical in the next few days.

Gallardo, 30, decided to move after discovering he would not be part of coach Daniel Passarella's plans.

"I have to check a few details with River, then I will sign my contract with PSG," he told Le Parisien.

"Apart from those little details, we have found an agreement.

"To me, going there is a challenge. I want to help the club. I have always enjoyed hard work and their situation doesn't scare me.

"I hope I will go to France by next week. I arrive in good shape and with more experience.

"The fans will see a better player than the one that used to play with Monaco."
