Reading defender Ibrahima Sonko has hinted his international future lies with Senegal.

Reading defender Ibrahima Sonko has hinted his international future lies with Senegal.

Sonko is eligible to play for France having grown up in the country, but remains undecided on which path to follow.

The former Brentford stopper has already rejected overtures from his home country, although now believes the time is right to play international football.

"I still haven't decided who I will play for," he told the Reading Evening Post.

"I am not just waiting for France. If Senegal call me I would probably play for them now. I've never ruled them out.

"I have been saying 'no' in the past but I was always waiting for the right time.

"I wanted to be settled with Reading in the Premiership, but I now think I am ready to take my career a step forward."
