George Burley believes Gareth Bale would be irreplaceable if Southampton sold him.
George Burley believes Gareth Bale would be irreplaceable if Southampton sold him in January. The Welsh left-back continues to be linked with a big-money move to the Premiership during the transfer window.
Manchester United have been linked with a £7million bid for the Saints starlet, while a host of other top clubs have been rumoured to hold an interest.
Bale insisted over the weekend that he is happy to remain at St Mary's and Burley is adamant the 17-year-old is going nowhere.
"There is no change on Gareth Bale and we are not looking to sell him," Burley told the club's official website.
"He is enjoying his football and is progressing well.
"There is a lot of hype about him - and rightly so. But I could never replace him. He is a one-off."
