Southend star Freddy Eastwood admits he hopes to be playing in the Premiership 'sooner rather than later'.The striker has been a revelation for The Shrimpers since arriving from Grays Athletic in 2004, and his winning goal in the shock Carling Cup win over Manchester United brought his talents to a wider audience.
Eastwood will be looking to strike again in Southend's quarter-final clash with Tottenham on Wednesday night, and the striker admits he wants to be facing top-class opposition on a weekly basis.
"I'm happy at Southend, we all stick together and we want to get back up the table rather than seeming dead and buried," Eastwood told The Times.
"But if I keep scoring, other clubs will show some interest. Southend have said that if a big club came in with the right money, they'd give me that chance.
"Hopefully, that will be sooner rather than later. My main aim is to play in the Premiership and I'd relish that opportunity.
"I think back to the United game and that's where I want to be, playing against the bigger clubs and the bigger players. Maybe one day I'll get there."
