Times a changing at Sixfields

Managerless Northampton Town have rejected a six-figure sum for defender Luke Chambers, at the same time as transfer listing a trio of goal-shy strikers.John Gorman's resignation on Wednesday has left The Cobblers reeling, but chairman David Cordoza has continued to ensure the club do not suffer in the transfer market.
Though he has refused to name the club interested in Chambers, he is anxious to protect the team's long-term future at Sixfields.
"We do not want to lose our best players," club chairman David Cordoza explained.
"If a player is to leave this club then they will only do so if we feel the offer matches the ability and market value of the player, and it is right for the club. No-one will be leaving here for less than they are worth."
The Cobblers have scored just 16 goals in 22 games thus far, and misfiring marksmen Scott McGleish, James Quinn and Andy Kirk (pictured) have all paid the price.
"We are keen to strengthen the squad considerably in January and if that means that a few players have to leave to give the new manager, whoever that may be, the chance to do that then so be it," Cordoza added.
"In the meantime the players are still under contract and we are still very committed to doing well for Northampton Town.
"We anticipate that the new manager will have the chance to be very active in the transfer market in January."
Despite the turmoil, Town must prepare to face their next test away against Oldham Athletic on Saturday.
