Leeds trial Swedish defender

Leeds have handed a trial to Swedish centre-back David Leinar.

The centre-back, who currently plays for Ljungskille, has been given the chance to earn a deal after catching the eye of Leeds scouts.

Ljungskille are believed to want £200,000 for Leinar if Leeds decide to offer him a contract.

Leeds boss Dennis Wise is looking for a commanding new defender after allowing Sean Gregan and Paul Butler to leave last month.

Wise has been casting the net far and wide in his search for reinforcements in recent weeks.

Slovakians Michal Filo and Matus Kozacik, and Czech duo Pavel Kucera and Adrian Rolko, have all been given trials by the Yorkshire club.

Chilean goalkeeper Rainer Worth and Croatian midfielder Goran Rubil have also been invited to train at Leeds.

Meanwhile, Leeds have opted to recall Neil Sullivan from his loan spell with Doncaster after on-loan Graham Stack suffered an ankle injury in training.

Sullivan made three league starts for the League One outfit, but will now return to Leeds after they triggered his 24-hour release clause.
