Brentford striker Lloyd Owusu's return from injury has been delayed.

Brentford striker Lloyd Owusu's return from injury has been delayed due to the need for another operation.

Owusu has not played for the League One strugglers this season after undergoing groin surgery.

The Bees were hoping the Ghana international would be fit to aid their survival bid in the New Year.

But Brentford manager Scott Fitzgerald has revealed Owusu requires further surgery and is unsure when he will be able to return.

"Lloyd needs another operation," said Fitzgerald.

"It is a stress fracture in the groin and hip area, and he has a hernia problem as well.

"That will have to be dealt with quickly and he will see another specialist."
