Emmanuel Adebayor has been named as Togo's foreign-based Player of the Year.

Emmanuel Adebayor has been named as Togo's foreign-based Player of the Year.

The striker won the award whilst at Monaco last year and has now been recognised for his performances with Arsenal.

He joined The Gunners in January and scored on his debut against Birmingham.

Adebayor has gone from strength to strength this season and has shone in recent weeks in the absence of Thierry Henry.

He has scored three times in his last four games, taking his overall Arsenal record to 10 goals from 29 appearances.

Adebayor was also top scorer in the African qualifying zone as Togo qualified for the World Cup, and played in all three of his country's games in Germany this summer.
