Nottingham Forest bounced back from defeat at Doncaster with a 3-0 win over Port Vale. Nathan Tyson got the ball rolling for Forest in the 13th minute and second-half goals from Grant Holt (65 & 90) secured the win.

Scunthorpe are still chasing Forest hard and claimed a 1-0 win over Chesterfield courtesy of the highly-rated Billy Sharp (49).

Brentford's shocking run of form continued as they were hammered 4-1 at home by Millwall.

Millwall were in control from the start as Danish striker Poul Hubertz (pictured) put them ahead within the opening 60 seconds.

He added another just before the hour and their was a third just minutes later when Paul Robinson scored.

Kevin O'Connor pulled one back (78) for The Bees from the penalty spot, but worse was to come for the home side as Charlie Ide was sent off for a professional foul and Darren Byfield slotted home the resulting spot-kick.

The win means The Lions have bolstered their own survival hopes and move out of the relegation zone - but The Bees stay bottom and without a win since September.

Bristol City's slip at home to Bournemouth allowed Oldham to claim third place with a 3-2 win at Rotherham.

Chris Porter (29) and Will Haining (42) earned The Latics a two-goal lead, but Eugen Bopp reduced arrears for the hosts ten minutes into the second-half.

Porter struck again in the 67th minute, however, and Will Hoskins's 81st minute penalty proved to be a mere consolation.

Bristol City were, in the end, grateful for a point against Bournemouth after falling two goals behind at Ashton Gate to strikes from Brett Pitman (16) and Marcus Browning (47).

A much-needed Cherries win appeared on the cards until a late fightback from the home side earned reward through Scott Murray (74) and Lee Johnson (80).

Blackpool's revival continued with a 2-1 win over Carlisle at Bloomfield Road - Simon Grayson's side are now sixth.

Tranmere were pegged back by Danny Schofield's 60th minute penalty for Huddersfield in a 2-2 draw at the Galpharm Stadium.

Andy Booth gave the struggling Terriers a ninth minute lead but two goals from Chris Greenacre (39 & 51) saw the match briefly turned on its head.

Yeovil continued their play-off charge with an impressive 3-1 win at Brighton through goals from Leon Best (38), Lee Morris (47) and Arron Davies (59). Joe Gatting (72) replied for Brighton.

Paul Heffernan's 14th minute goal gave Doncaster a 1-0 win at Bradford, and a double from Scott McGleish (46 & 74) gave Northampton a 2-0 win over Cheltenham.

Elsewhere, two late goals earned Gillingham victory over Leyton Orient. An own goal from Brian Saah (81) cancelled out James Walker's 35th minute strike for Orient and Sungu N'Dumbu (88) completed the late turnaround.
